Experimental Adjust at level 5 > level Down to 4, but does the Experimental mod remain if I lvl-5 the weapon ?.

Weapon is at level 5, I want to apply a experimental effect to this weapon with adjust, I understand I'll drop down to level 4.

1). Can I repeatedly adjust until I obtain the effect that I want ?.
2). If I have the desired special effect at level 4 will I retain the Experimental effect if I apply the level 5 mod ?.

Many thanks.

With referecne to 1). When the wheel stops I can advance the wheel to the next blue bar, and the next blue bar etc. until I get the effect I want ?.

If I apply a experimental effect at level 4, I would lose this effect if I upgrade the weapon to level 5 ?.
At level 5 I cannot adjust, wow, I have to play roulette at level 5 for a experimental effect.....which I've done, I wasted 6 Modified Embedded firmware's playing roulette, not a single hit during the spins NOT a single one........

Thanks for your time.

You get presented with a grid of all possible effects and you just pick one. It costs 2 levels of influence if you didn't randomly get a special effect and one if you did.

The normal procedure is you pay 2 levels (or 1 if you're lucky) for your grade 5 mod. Then rebuild your influence back to 5.

If the special effect was kept, everyone would just spam grade 1 mods until they got the effect they were after and then upgrade it to grade 5. Which would be much easier and cheaper to do.

Everytime you roll a new grade and apply it, that overwrites the mod you had.

When you Adjust a grade 5 it drops you down to Lvl3 influence with that engineer.
Choose which effect you want. Apply it.

You only need to roll 3 of each grade to unlock the next grade.
ie.. roll 3x grade 3, discard, unlocks grade 4,
roll 3x grade 4, discard, unlocks grade 5.

you can as well do several rolls grade 1 or 2, will need more rolls so but
you do not need waste special materials or datas

and as cmdr metatheurgist already postet - you can pick the effect from list and pay with your graderank

I'm trying to find out how to activate the list to choose the experimental to apply; I've got the G-5 access and the role I like, but cannot remember how to get the list open to choose the effect. Appreciate some mentoring to upgrade my weapons, Thanks. o7

You just make rolls until you find one that you're happy to use some rep on to enhance with a special effect. In the roulette section of the mod is a button you can press to spend rep to select an effect. Try it with a G1 upgrade if you're unsure of the process, just don't commit to the effect or you'll waste your rep.

You are looking for the Adjust button.. near the middle of the screen, just above the Try Again button , this brings up the screen where you trade reputation ranks to get the effect you want.

Thanks. Tried it on my Clipper today to enhance my efficient beams. I was even able to get back to level 4 with Broo before I left. Appreciate the help. Observed yet again, what Beethoven said about playing the piano applies to ED: "It's easy once you know how."

Thanks. Worked today for an upgrade to beams on my Clipper. Appreciate the mentoring, o7
