Explain ''Hunt'' with no type missions

I took this mission thinking it would be easy enough, but i can't find what i must hunt at all.
A little help would be welcome.

Here the mission description :

Title : Hunt
Text : We've seen an increase in aggression by ships in the following system : ''Censored/Empire System'', and its impacting on the sector economy.
To put a stop to such deplorable behavior, we're offering a substantial reward to mercenaries capable of delivering a little gunboat diplomacy.

Target type : Empty line, nothing is shown here.
Target count : 2
Time : 5h
Quest Giver/Faction : Empire's Grace

Is there anyone who encountered these type of mission ?

You have to kill two of some kind of ship. I'd guess pirates but you can't be sure so I'd leave that one. You usually have to kill pirates, traders or bounty hunters.

I'll continue to try and fight more ships, maybe i'll be lucky enough.
I don't want to abandon the mission because it will ruin my reputation and i've been trying to get Naval Opportunity missions to pop-up for the last 3 days.
Still blocked at Cerf. I want that darn Clipper dammit, lol.

If you've already taken it sure go ahead.

Actually, you should get an alternative mission offer at some point, the text of that might give you a clue (and/or a way out).

If i take too long they give an alternative to the mission ? Killing pirates and wanted ships doesn't seems to work.

No, usually with these missions you'll encounter someone representing those that you are hunting, and they'll make a counter offer (which is usually to meet them at such and such station).

However, if there is no ship type, I have a feeling you've hit a bug and I'm not sure the alternative will be offered. Still, can but try... Usually get the alternative by checking out Unidentified Signal Sources.

If you have a hunting mission and drop into a USS, you'll often encounter an NPC ship from the target faction which asks you to do something else instead, sometimes for a higher reward.

You can still do the original mission, and the text of the counter offer may provide a clue as to what that mission actually is.

Thanks both of you. I will try and look at USS. Maybe i'll get lucky and have an alternative.

On the subject of killing "Bounty Hunters" - how do you tell what a bounty hunter looks like? I've done pirates which are pretty easy to spot in USS and system security vessels are obvious, but what marks out a ship as a "Bounty Hunter"?

¸I would like to know that too, i haven't took any of these missions by fear it would be complicated to find Bounty Hunters.

Thank you! I've visited a few USS, and i got an alternative mission from an NPC. I think it was the only way to progress instead of loosing time in Nav Beacons and Extraction sites.

But sadly enough i will have to Kill 3 civilians lol.
I'm guessing Civilians are any not wanted ships.

Bounty hunters would be the ships that scan you at res's and nav beacons (not the system security ones) and tell you "you're clean".

I can't help mutch but...
1) posible targets also include system authority ships
2) npc BH's will scan you just like authority ships but have actual names
3) the npc that gives you a alterative mission doos not have to be of the faction that is your target
4) your rep will only go down slightly if you cancel the mission. You will most likely get your rep up faster by canceling and taking non buged missions then taking the time to complete this 1

I think i will abandon the mission as you suggest, i fear i might hit my reputation more if i kill civilians.

Bounty hunting at res's and nav beacons in the faction system, then turning in the bounties will quickly improve your rep, depending on the amount of bounties you turn in of course.

I've noticed that, i killed a little more than 1000 wanted ships in an Extraction site with my Vulture and i became allied with the Alliance, Empire, Federation all at once.
Thanks, i will definitely try this.

I've got one of those Bounty Hunter Hunting quest, not sure it was a good idea. Aren't these bounty Hunters Clean and attacking them would mean a Bounty on my head ?
