Exploding SRV...every...freakin...time

Decided to go after a Frame Shift Drive Booster.
After landing my DBX, the very first time deploying there worked flawlessly - textbook.

After losing oxy in the SRV, I respawn above the site and then grab a new SRV from a local carrier.
Tried it assisted and unassisted in Odyssey or Horizon always on perfectly level terrain, the SRV explodes under the ship just as the deploy animation finishes.
Now each time I return to the with another SRV, every time, every variation, every location - once suitably landed, it explodes on deployment of the SRV.

Is this a glitch, did I miss something in the threads, am I doomed in this space version of ground hog day - any advice appreciated.
TIA

I don't know, but I sounds like you have upset some guerilla combateers! Joking aside, this is funny, ....but I admit it would annoy the living snot out of me!

Basically, I got no idea - but since you said that you blew up your first SRV from a lack of fuel (and then oxygen), is it possible that the SRV(s) you got from the carrier are unprovisioned with fuel and oxygen?
Yes, I would consider it a bug - but it might be a difference between carrier restock and station restock. ISTR that you can check at least the fuel level (and IIRC hull percentage) from the crotch panel in the ship. If your new carrier SRV shows empty fuel before you deploy it, that might be another hint.

Edit: If you're at a place that sells SRV hangars, you might try resetting the SRV by selling your hangar, then buy a new one.

Fair enough - the OXY loss was just me damaging my canopy - but the SRV stats are all 100%
Going back to get another now.
Did do a walk around with my legs and saw that there REALLY isn't a lot of room under the DBX (like a meter on flat ground)
Wondering if the landing gear is fully retracted (if there is such a thing)

Flat surface (around 3m - camera doesn't fit)

oddly got one out using a no-assisted straight down slam - notice floating gear

I can't be the only DBX player to experience this

The DBX rises up when it's landed to lower the SRV. I didn't realise that for a while. But your problem does sound a bit weird.

By the way, if you're going to Guardian sites, it's very helpful to have point defence turrets on the top of your ship to take out Sentinel missiles.

Well, I've used DBX+SRV for years in Horizons mostly visiting different POIs and had never encountered anything similar.

In Odyssey I have recently encountered the situation that partially reminds the one described above - I have restocked one of my srv's on a station - due to a loss - while my commander have docked with only anonymous access due to a fine. Looks like that have resulted in a new srv that have been delivered without fuel. Upon deploy on the next planetary POI I have received the message about out of fuel/oxygen tank depleting. Boarding back and new attempt to deploy resulted in a CTD. However that was only once and so far never repeated.

Have a look on power priorities both for the ship and the Srv. You might have accidentally messed with something there that turns off some modules when you deploy the srv and causes that?

The only relative thing that has happened to me is due to a not strong enough laptop, the graphics weren't rendered correctly when landing, so on occasions the ship (often a Dbx) would end up kind of IN the planet, so crashing a couple of times.

Or on one occasion (on a current PC this time), the ship would land and immediately take off, so I couldn't board. Exiting the game fixed it.

Several ships do that depending on terrain.

Type 9 for example if you deploy the SRV on a flat surface it's a fair bloody drop from the SRV bay.

It also rises to allow SRV deployment on uneven terrain despite it being on fairly tall landing gear.

All good to know - I don't mind the floating landing gear as much as the destruction after the deploy animation - really did appear that it was ramming the SRV into the ground, so I wouldn't blame it for being destroyed - will double check my srv settings as well - the destruction has made me a bit single focused

I was way out in the black and had a similar experience where one of my SRVs blew up through lack of fuel. While I was setting a screenshot no less, so that was a double whammy. I had a second so I used that, but there was an update a day or two later and after that I gained back my destroyed SRV. It said it was operational and so I made the foolish decision to try it, and it blew up as soon as it deployed.

It's definitely a bug, I think the best course of action would be as Ashnak says to sell the hangar and buy a new one. (I'd even be tempted to relog after selling it).

Well, it seems that it was being a bit 'glitchy' - replaced my SRV and bay as suggested then relogged in
unassisted land, all green - perfect disembark - no OXY/FUEL issues - apparently this corrected whatever config it needed
and YES it does appear that the DBX lifts itself higher with an SRV disembark (which I think was the real glitch)

Thanks to all - I rarely ask for help but this was -aaarrrgh-

Just had the same thing happen to me after a Thargoid Device had melted my SRV's Life Support and I ran out of Oxygen on my way back to the ship.
SRV exploded instantly upon deplyoment. Bought a new one - exploded again.
After uninstalling and re-installing the Planetary Vehichle Hangar it worked again.
You can do that on a Random Fleet Carrier, no re-log required but you have to re-install the Hangar.
It's a bug though - and it's still in the game.

Yeah I always find it best to sell SRV bay and then repurchase the bay as well as the SRV, there are some funny glitches there, I don't see many of them because I try to avoid losing SRV and stuff like that. It's possible that the existing SRV bay is somehow storing the state of the SRV and applying that to new ones you buy, which would be bizarre but this is ED and bizarre things do sometimes happen.

I've hit this bug, wonder if anyone put it on the Issue Tracker, I blew up from lack of Oxygen at a Guardian Site and Restocked the SRV from a Carrier, each time I deployed the SRV the Oxygen would have something like a few seconds left, not enought time to synthesise and repair or even get back into the ship. Annoying thing is I gave up playing each time it happened and then a month later forgot why I was floating in space only to repeat the resock/Oxygen death loop and give up again.... thrid time I decided to do some searching on forums!

Don't restock the SRV, remove the SRV bay and re-install it, I believe there is a bug that happens sometimes that is solved by removing and re-installing the SRV bay.

After you restock, make sure you lower the ship below the deck.
It sounds like the "new" SRV is inheriting the oxygen level of the old one (i.e. zero) and lowering the ship is the only way to refill oxygen on a fleet carrier.

Interesting theory, didnt manage to try that though as I ended up doing the full selling of hte SRV hanger bay module and buying a new one worked, but I had to travel to a new System to do that. I opened an Issue Tracker ticket for it. I noticed someone had raised one before but it had been closed, their description of the issue was not very precise so hopefully a new one with full details about the work around helps them resolve it.
