Exploration: Ammonia world

So i was on a exploration trip and happened upon something ive not seen before. anybody here ever find anything like this?

(sorry i don´t have pic of the description, i thought i made one. though the data is sold, so you should be able to find it if you are interested.)

Yep, that's an Ammonia planet alright. Some say they could be relatively rarer than Earth-like planets. Earth-liked worlds are worth 10k, not sure why Ammonia planets are worth 20k on the UC, they are both DSS scanned.

I think what it said in the description was ammonia-carbon based life, so i imagine it would be more than just bacterial (which is in gas giants with ammonia life). Like maybe some lizzards or other primitive creatures.

Might be that in the future there will be an alien civilisation of lifeforms that are ammonia-carbon based (as opposed to us: water-carbon based), and they will colonise those planets. ^^
this particular one is just 500 or so Ly away from the edge of inhabited space.

Good catch!

There are also gas giants with ammonia based life. Those seem to be slightly less common than the water-life gas giants.

On my current exploration trip I've found an Ammonia World, but I'm yet to find my first (to tag) Earth Like. They are pretty cool though, so looking forward to setting mine at the cartographers whenever I get back.

Found two on my flying about, still got to collect the bounty on them. One of them had ammonia life on it as well hopefully that will be worth a bob or two if I make it bake to human space, which isn't looking likely at the minute.. I have yet to find a Earth type world, :( found a terraforming candidates and water world through.

Reading the link poster above, I'm looking forward to seeing what life forms look like on these planets when we get planetary landings in a year or two time.

I have found one in with rings in a Nebula :) (I can't put hyper links yet..) i.imgur.com/EA4U83x.png Personally I've found more Amonia worlds than Earth-like

Whoah that one looks awesome... found another screen online (dunno who found this one), that takes the cake for me.

They're pretty rare, but as you found out, worth a few bob when you sell the data - here's one I found last week:

Flipping ugly when you go for a close up look though. And as already mentioned, they probably don't smell too good either.

Yeah, wouldnt wanna get a suit puncture/canopye breach on that planet :D

So i found another one ^^... This time with what seems like a denser atmosphere. DAMN, but these look cool!

I believe thargoids live on worlds like this!

Yes, I thought that too, so have made my focus to record Ammonia worlds rather than seeking Earth likes (though it is pot luck on what one finds but I get more excited about the Ammonia based life that earth like carbon life)

I've found 3 ammonia worlds vs 1 earth world, so guess its just pot luck which you find and which is rarer....
