Exploration and bandwith

Hey, recently i've been rather busy traveling, and therefore have had little time to play elite with a stable wifi connection.
However, i did up my phones 3G/4G capacity to 4GB/month, and 20mbit/second, and i wonder ;

How much bandwith does Elite use while solo exploring (in the core)?
(Mb/hour would be nice)
Would love to be able to play Elite a little more on the move.

I was looking into this last night !!!
In deep space(exploring) the bandwidth monitor comes to life when in HS or scanning and it is minimal, a few 100 bytes here or there.
Last night, in and around the Founder's World, with only one other Cmdr in sight, I was receiving lots of packets, between 5-20K !!!! and it was constant, for some reason ?!?!?

If the bandwidth monitor is to be believed, then when deep space exploring you will be using about 200-250K ,or less an hour :)
(purely from my experience and using in-game bandwidth monitor)

If you start getting close to your limit ,go to Solo mode as the game won't need to update you with the state of other commanders when in the bubble :)

I am finding I am using only about 20-30Mb a session when I explore. I was surprised at how little bandwidth I am using.

I am in Deep Space though so not much traffic.

I monitor usage because during the week I play on my Away PC using a shared internet connection.

Did some of my own research, and found out that my average MB/hour was around 6mb.

So if i say i play 5 hours a day (Which is a maximum, i usually play less) at 7 days a week, at 4 weeks (Again, i usually only need mobile bandwidth half of the month) that gives me a total of 840mb/month, leaving me with 3256mb to use for other stuff.

As @Dommarraa said, less than 1GB/month :) (Not 24/7 though)

Yeah, since the game only updates when you interact with the environment/other players simply flying in supercruise should not use any. Flying solo will help as other people have said.

Best of luck with the mobile bandwidth, not sure I'd trust it but one extra way in which you are "exploring" :)

@Dognosh the spike from other player is because you are constantly uploading/downloading position, direction, speed and status (hardpoints etc) on the peer to peer connection.
