Newcomer / Intro Exploration and Settlement

As I travel outwards towards the "unexplored" can I expect to find any settlements or stations?

Also, as I explore systems and uncover resources how soon until I can expect settlers or corporate expansion to those areas?

Nope. Once you are out of the "civilized" core, there are no bases. After a few hundred ly of the odd pirate, you are all alone. Very very alone.

Never. There might be a new system or two a month when they get it implemented, but it wont ever even be a drop in the ocean

This isn't true anymore, the only "deep space" station is New Yembo, about 350 ly outside of normal human space. Additionally the "pirate zone" has gone, you will rarely encounter one more that a jump or two away from civilisation.

Nope, I'm out here as well. Stop leaving your empty pizza boxes flying around, my canopy is getting dirty.

If I recall correctly, one of the exploration community goals resulted in new outposts. And isn't Pratchett's Disc quite far off as well?

Ive been to them both, and didnt even notice a gap.
That's what exploring does to you. 400ly for a packet of ciggies is normal.

I noticed in the case of Pratchett's because there were quite a few unexplored systems on the way. But yeah, distances feel very different once you've travelled a few thousand light years... (And that stupid black hole doesn't even seem to come closer...)
