My idea revolves around exploration missions. Maybe they'd be in their own tab or in the mission tab, but the exploration missions would be scan x amounts of z planets. These would only be available 500 ly from Sol, but have ludicrous payouts. How to balance the ludicrous payouts? Make them hardish to complete (the father away from Sol, the more ludicrous the missions get; starting from 100,000 per "point" up to 1 mil (at 10,000 ly), and going up to 2 mil at Colonia (further incentiveizing player migration to Colonia)). With Earthlike scanning missions, a prediscovered terraformable would be worth one "point", a previously discovered Earthlike and undiscovered terraforable being worth 2 "points", and an undiscovered Earthlike being worth 4 "points". Now for the different types of missions. There could be missions scanning ringed planets (or subsets of ringed planets, like ringed gas giants or ringed rocky planets, with the "points" being devalued based on the rarity of the planets (1,000cr per gas giant at 500 ly, 5,000cr per ringed gas giants in missions, 1,000cr per rocky world, 10,000 per ringed rocky world etc. These factors would increase farther from Sol as stated before), and lead to some amazing discoveries and people not going to exploits to earn money when exploring is so profitable. Anyway, there you go, my idea for buffing exploration.
Edit: forgot to include the fact that the mission progress would be checked through the thing in transactions tab and say something like "23/50 x planets scanned"
