Exploration Burnout

I also listen to a variety of music in the background, usually something different from YouTube. Lately it's been "psybient" type stuff. I turn off orbital lines too as I don't like them mucking up my view and they seem kind of cheaty to me..

Thanks for the suggestion! I have been listening to a lot of Philip Glass: Metamorphosis. It's a great soundtrack for letting your mind wander through the significance of anything great or small.

Probablly I'm a victim of the grinding too. For now I'm halfaway to Sag A, but it's a week or so that the simple idea of logging in and making another jump sunds fun as office work.

The worst signal was in the last session, I found an unclaimed ELW and was sorry and deluded becouse I HAD TO supercruise 900ls to scan it.

Oh, how i feel what you mean... I wouldn't characterise it as "office work" (yet) but it has indeed become somewhat boring to login just to jump-scoop-jump-scoop. No fun at all. Just systems with the same type of planets, nothing else. No space-monsters passing nearby to trigger your interest, no mysterious clouds, no nothing...

I guess the 30-30something Ly per jump is a little too... little! :) FD, wanna make things more interesting? Find a way to increase this limit. Not permanently, let's say when scooping fuel from a certain kind of star, it could act as super-unleaded fuel and let you jump twice your current jump range. ;) Various star types could increase or decrease your jump range, depending on how new / old the star is...

I'm now on my way back from a trip to Sag A via about 800 neutron stars in the neutron fields. So the 24000 LY I have left to go doesn't seem too far but I expect it will drag on a bit. Especially as I've only managed two hours play in the last 7 days and a chunk of that was fighting the route planner in the core!

I'm happy with getting enough data to jump to the rank below elite and seeing the core. But I'm not sure what will encourage me to do the next trip to actually get to ELITE...

i tell you, being at home doesnt prevent you from getting bored...
right now i cant bring myself to play after a long day of work... to tired to play :(

Well, I did a little bit last night but this time I setup my laptop next to me and fired up Netflix and watched/listened to a Planet Earth documentary while flying. That definitely helped pass the time and made it less of a chore. Just have to pay attention and not fry the ship by flying too close.

I sneaked into FDev's offices and took a peek at their ten year plan for ED. Bottom of the list was: "Zeeman finally returns home" :D

LOL

I have too many work projects going on, don't have the big chunks of time to make any real distance!

Soon™...
