Umm, what are you trying to accomplish? I suppose if you self-destructed you might create the Greater Parry Rift or something.

You could probably dial that in so that you get 1000Ly total range, then that would actually be a pretty decent explorer. Since you can only map 1000Ly routes, you would only have to scoop at the destination star, and since that's the one you pick in the map, you can ensure it's scoopable.
