Exploration Data after clear save???

Hi, Does anyone know what happens to exploration data after a clear save has been performed?

I'm talking about significant data that you had previously cashed in, eg 1st discovery stuff.

Is that wiped off, and ripples through the various tools (EDSM), so that the system is then undiscovered/ unexplored and the next cmdr that comes along gets the credit for it?

Or is this maintained after a clear save?

FYI - I've been trying to play in ironman mode for years, would like to get to Elite class in anything but and clear save if i lose my ship. Although with Odessey i've found it impossible to survive in ironman mode, so I am considering breaking my principles!

Any help guidance is appreciated

AFAIK, all data is lost if you haven't yet sold it. Conversely, all data is permanently in the galactic database once it has been sold to UC.

My understanding is that if you do an account wipe/reset, the old commander is actually still in the database (soft-deletion), along with all of its tags and discoveries. Those tags should be permanently associated with that commander's name.

Tags are retained under the old commander's name. In effect, a "clear save" doesn't perma-delete a commander from the database, it just disconnects you (the player) from that commander so you can no longer access it.

This does of course mean that all the systems you explored and discovered in your past life will no longer be visible to you in your new life. They will be "unexplored to to", just as if another player had previously explored them.
