Exploration data and changing ships

Hi guys,

I've just come back from a trip to SagA and my Asp is brimming with exploration data. The faction that my group are pushing to take over our system is in Civil War Critical, and has been for a couple of days now so I'm waiting for the war to start before selling in the hope that this might boost their influence level during the war state and help them win. This may be misguided, I don't know.

However, it also means I'm getting bored of waiting for the war to start! Does anyone know if I switch to my Vulture, will the exploration data stay with the Asp or would it stay with me? Logic would dictate that it stays in the Asp's computers, but I suspect it'd stay with me in the Vulture... I don't want to risk loosing it by accident / pirate adventure.

Your exploration data stays with you if you swap ship. Be warned, if you die (at all) before selling it, you'll lose all of it. I lost all mine on my return from Sag. A* due to a mishap - it was a rather perturbing moment...

It stays with you, so sell it or risk it.
You could make use of the data to unlock some independent permits. Better than just dumping for cash

I suspected that was the case... guess I'll just have to wait for the war to start! *Goes back to the ship's galley
