Exploration Data and Leaderboards Question.

So I've tried looking into this, but can't find a clear answer....

Does anyone know how you earn points in this category on the Squadron Leader boards? Is it case of selling the explo data where you want? Or does it need to be at a station controlled by your Squadron?

You can sale it anywhere, half of the value of your data goes to the leaderboards. You still keep all your earnings.
