Love the new exploration features, the DSS is pretty cool, and firing probes to planets is an efficient way of mapping them.
However - it would add another layer to maybe allow exploration or discoveries in different visual wavelengths?
Infrared, UV, XRAY, Radio, Microwave and Gamma?
SInce the game is striving for a realistic slant, and modern astronomy is done that way (most modern astronomy is NOT done in nthe visual wavelenths), this could add some intriguue to the game?
Discovering infrared hotspots on a planet, which leads to an active volcano or thermal springs, discoving an XRAY source on a star etc is a sunspot. Don't know how it would look or feel, but it could be a interesting exploration method?
