Exploration Engineering Wishlist

So those "dedicated explorer" type of engineers should really have some Dedicated Explorer gear. I'm not just talking about a longer jump range and lightweight mounts, but actual Explorer Mods. Please share ideas to nudge the Devs' way.

Discovery Scanner (Basic/Intermediate/Advanced)
  • Improved Scan Time - sacrifice integrity/increase power usage/shorten scan time
  • Increased Efficiency - lighter weight and less power, slightly longer scan time

Planetary Scanner
  • Omnidirectional - increase scanning arc, max level gives full "turret" scanner, increase power/weight
  • Focused Scanning Array - increase scanning range, decrease scanning time, increase power/weight

Planetary Vehicle Bay
  • Increased Efficiency - lower weight and power use, lower integrity/pickup speed
  • Service Station - automatically repairs/fuels SRV, increase in power/weight, expensive in resources to create

Fuel Scoop

  • Heat Dispersal - increase power use, better cooling during scoop
  • Improved Collection Field - scoops faster, runs hotter

Engineer Exclusive Gear
  • Combo Scanner - Takes Class 3 slot, uses good power, combines Advanced Discovery and Detailed Surface Scanners (you still need to approach for surface scan)
  • Probe Controller - Limpet controller that fires a limpet in SuperCruise that travels to, then scans a targeted system body.

As long as it's a wish list ...
I was hoping to get the ability to reconfigure internal compartments.
For example have an engineer tear out a bulkhead to combine two size 2 compartments into a single size 3
Or reverse that and convert a size 5 into two size two compartments

This would be quite expensive no doubt and would probably affect the ship integrity to some degree.
And of course, it would not survive ship destruction. An insurance re-buy would replace it with an unmodified ship.
 
The space of a module doubles each size, as you can see with the cargo racks. So a splitted size 5 would be two size 4 compartements, but probably there should be some loss for the additional beams and holders.

As much as i would like such an ability, i'm quite sure that this can't be implemented due to "hardcoded" parts in the game.
