Exploration Multi-Crew - what do you use it for?

Having some company on a long journey? Taking non-exploration tourists to see POIs? Showing exploration newbies what it's all about?

My exploration ships are single-seaters, so would be good to know what benefits others feel they get out of it.

Yes to all your questions. I just took trip to Sag A*, i have my ship open for players. Some of them go, some of them stayed. I show to few players very nice spots on the way also i teach them one or two things. There is no other purpose other than kill the boredom. Lacks of interaction for passangers is killind it :(. They can't do anything.

beside that, i have used mutli-crew to discuss findings with fellow explorers, or to show something extraordinary to friends.

still looking for a multicrew-capable exploration vessel i enjoy to fly alone on my trips, too - my DBE isn't an option. maybe the cmkIV for shortrange exploration, maybe the orca for a bit longer tours? got the keelback multi-crew capable with the patch? i don't want to bring my conda out all the time, which i only use(d) for really long trips, and i whooleheartly dislike the AspE (probably because i have spent to much time with it).

on my conda i have a fighter bay .... at least people who join can do some canyon running, help scouting for geysers, fumaroles and space-funghis and fly around in a great scenery a bit.

If they have fighters why can't we use SRV's?

yeah. no idea. also you can't fly the fighter together with someone multicrew, even if you have two fighters --- i thought about bringing a hangar with two fighters and go for canyon racing with a guest on my ship.

Have you ever tried a Clipper? Great cockpit view, excellent forward speed (even on the lightest thrusters), excellent SC handling, and it can still do 40 ly jump range without too big compromises. Right now, I'm using this, although I'm still tweaking it a bit.
No hangar bay though, so guests can only look around. Maybe operate your turrets if you bring along any.

yes, i have flown the clipper for shortrange exploration ... it's even bigger than a python and more complicated to land, which counters its speed for scouting surfaces ... for my style of exploring it doesn't win much compared to a cmkIV ... or cmkIII, if i want that speed, but multi-crew. but the sc handling is very nice for such a medium-large ship!
