I've been building a playlist of various electronic/synth stuff. I have a Spotify copy of the playlist (mostly the same as my iTunes version).

I listen to a bit of everything to be perfectly honest. Mostly a mixture of Darkwave/New Wave Retro synth, Filk/Folk, classic rock, synthpop, but the list really goes on and on since I try to theme playlists. For example if songs have a strong theme of space exploration in the lyrics or I think the sound fits well with the activity I'll go ahead and add it.
This is one of my all time favorite filk tracks.

For exploring the farthest reaches of the galaxy, near permit regions, or near Guardian or Thargoid sites, Cryo Chamber has some dark ambient tracks inspired by the various Old Ones of Lovecraft.

Probably goes without saying but the new Blade Runner 2049 soundtrack works very well with Elite. After scooping up some scout thargoid lovelys for Palin I was interdicted on my back to Obsidian to the tune of Elvis' Caught in a trap. Perfect
