I take it the larger of the three is Glynie Prime?

:) Glyn's 3rd ball?
...maybe not.

If it was me I'd fear someone nipping out there and back to steal the discovery...
Fortunately I'm back home at good old Earth. :)

also can we make glynie some sort of king
lol :D thank you very much - I don't think I deserve all this praise.
Speaking of which: Thanks to all the reputation gains I've received. There are a great many of them, I appreciate it. :)

The cloud is a supernova remnant. You'll find a neutron star system at its heart.
I thought the same, until I arrived:

That is a truly unique find Glynie! Well done, have some rep.

And I thought my find of an Earth-like with 5 terraform candidates was good.
If we were playing poker with planets, you just triple aced me. :)

I like this idea.

Babylon system?
As a reference to an old station, the last best hope for peace?
Maybe not.

Either way, something like this would be perfect for a cross factional meeting point.

i think it's far enough removed that the factions would have to work together to some extent to expand; if it happened it could temporarily ease the faction's relations through player input. to become a space-faring civilization with this level of sophistication the factions must have originally been united

at least, before the empire has ships full of gold flying around the place and try to take over the entire expansion

The best explanation I can think of on why a planet's name is dfferent from the rest of the planet is the planet used to be a rogue planet. It happened to enter the system and got caught by the star's gravity in a stable orbit so now, it is part of the system.

Some Stars Capture Rogue Planets
