A little while ago I joined a discord chat and in that time I have met a great number of amazing people all of whom share a love for this game. We have spoken many times about how great it would be to have crossplay as a thing because this game would benefit so much from it. Plus it would be really cool to actually fly alongside some of them and share an adventure or five.
Despite there being no crossplay feature, we came up with the idea of placing our name in the galaxy, a way to signify our desire and permanently emblazen our devotion to exploration in the stars.
So...with me Cmdr IiliI PEL IiliI (Xbox One), Cmdr Xelloss-77 (PS4) and Cmdr 2Bines (PC)...we decided to venture out into the galactic core and find a trinary system, each star having its own set of planets and moons....and share the glory of naming them all in unison!!
So...as I was first into the core, I began my search and it wasnt long before I found our system - SCHEE FLYI FO-D C27-3260.
Having passed on the system name to both Xelloss-77 and 2Bines, they too pointed their ships in the direction and held out hope they could get there before the data would be taken by someone else.
The journey back home was a panic filled one...it wasnt losing the ground covered (although that would suck immensely)...it wasnt losing all of the other data or the money...it was simply the fear of losing this one little piece of this systems data that kept us all going. The data we held meant so much more to us than that...it was symbolic of our exploratory togetherness and new found friendship in this vast galaxy.
This morning on the 8/8/3303...Cmdr's 2Bines, Xelloss-77 and myself had all the data back safely and our mission was complete!! We had successfully accomplished what we set out to do and the feeling was like no other.
Elation, pride and relief. We had travelled 23,549.56Ly from Sol to this system and everything had gone to plan.
We had even come up with a name for our new found system and if the devlopers are willing to allow it.... we would like it to be renamed as....
KROSSPLAYIA XB-1 PS-4 PC-1080.
That would mean so much to us and would cement our honour and dedication in the stars forever.
