Newcomer / Intro Exploration question

Hi all

I am currently looking around an anarchy system after something to mine. When I first looked at the system map there were two outposts and the planets they were orbitting. I have been round the system with my basic discovery scanner and found several more planets and moons. I have been interdicted a few times and destroyed ships (after scanning with KWS) so now I have some bounties to collect. One is for Empire, one is for Alliance etc. One of the bounties is for a faction (presumably) within the star system (because it has the system name in the faction name).

So here is my question...Since the two outposts that I can see in this system do not belong to this faction, should there be any other outposts or stations around that I cannot see? Do I need a better scanner to locate them? Or is the faction I am looking for in a different system?

I have looked on the bulletin board in the outpost and there are many jobs from many different factions. Where do I find these people?

Any station in a system should be available even without scanning. I have never come across or heard of any station needing to be discovered.

Many times I have dropped into a system and had stations (and RESs) show in the Nav panel but not the body that they are orbiting.

As to Factions there are a number of people reporting that they are getting bounty vouchers from local factions that don't seem to actually exist.

I was going to ask about resource extraction sites also. Do they appear straight away too then? A couple of the planets have rings with major reserves but doesn't tell me what type. Can I drop out of supercruise into the rings or is it a case of 'no RES, no mining'?

You can drop out of supercruise anywhere on a planets ring and mine there, you are not restricted to extraction sites.

In fact I've read a few people on here recommending doing exactly that as you are less likely to be disturbed away from the crowd

Indeed. Mining away from the resource extraction sites is the best way to mine.

Simply fly towards a random area of a ring, and keep flying - slow right down to around 1000km so you don't do damage to your ship. Then fly right into the ring. You will be forced out of supercruise, and here you will be in an area with no other players. Occasionally NPC's will spawn the instant you enter the area - however this doesn't always happen.
