Exploration Question

So i decide to head off into the black yesterday and it ended with me in Barnard's loop.

My question:

When i hop into a system and do my honk, i see on the system map that the first tags have been taken but items are still listed as un-explored to me. Does this mean there is still money to be made in doing detail scans? or am i just wasting time?

There's money to be made even if something has been found, you just don't get the additional 50% (a neutron star is still worth nearly 40000Cr though).

There is a tag for each object, so if the star has been scanned and the other bodies not, you will get the 50% if you scan the other bodies. So in that sense, yes it is worth it (unless they are asteroids :) ).

They are un-explored to YOU.... therefore detailed scans earn you money

There's money to be made. If someone has been the first to discover it already it just means you don't get the first to discover bonus.

Thanks for the replies. Was surprised to find that after i left the loop and just started to run out and around how much vast unexplored area there is. Even found my first earth like planet.

OP,

This gives you some information on the credits that can be made from your scanning: -

Worth printing off and having close to hand whilst of there in the void.

Also, if your not already aware, there's a very good guide in the forums on Exploring...
