Legitimate question.
Traders get to see how much profit they make on any given run (most know ahead of time since they've probably made the run a dozen times).
Bounty hunters can check how much their vouchers are worth cumulatively in the transactions tab.
Someone on a 10000 light year exploration trip only has the vaguest idea of what their scan data is worth, and won't find out until they get to a station and spend a few hours selling the data.
It would be nice if the system map gave us a figure for the current value of that scan data as it stands, being adjusted as detailed scans are made. That way we would have more idea of which objects are really worth scanning, and also highlight the risk/reward of the profession since we know that we're sitting on however many millions (hopefully) of data. Universal Cartographics obviously has a set value for different object types, even if we're not directly linked to them all the time we would benefit from knowing.
