hey exploring is dangerous deal with it
What the hell kind of answer is that? Walking down the street is dangerous, does that mean you should just have to "deal with it" if somebody walks up to you and kicks you in the nuts?

It's the time spent in supercruise at high speeds (above 1000 c)
So no, I did not drop out of SC nor did I overheat. At no point. It was a pretty basic trip, two jumps in total. The only difference was the 1 1/2 hour long trip in SC.
I just tested again, it's the time spent in SC at high speeds that destroys the ship.
Ok, there are two things that simply don't work with exploration:
1st
Ship integrity. My ship integrity went down to 44% after exploring a SINGLE system that had planets at the outer sun, which was 0.17LY away. The loss is some 227000 credits in repairs plus change for the paint.
Are you kidding? That not only never pays off, it does also mean that when I'm up for some serious exploring (for the fun of exploring, NOT TO MAKE CASH) I'll explode after the second or third big system!
What kind of ship are you using ? Do you have shields? Did you run into a sun or something? I have been to a half dozen systems in a row and not gotten that much intergrity loss, Some people have gone to 50 systems or more.
(60 sec * 60 min * 24 hr * 365.25 days) * .17 = ...
He went 5,364,792 ls - that is .17 ly.
That can be a bit more than 50 systems traveling and traveling is not exploring - that's sight-seeing. No way in hell is someone exploring 50 systems or more without integrity repairs.
I use a cobra for exploration and doing 10 systems costs me about 10% of my ship unless it's just tap the sun and move on quickly.
