Engineers Exploration Upgrades

Hello Fellow CMDR's

I am new to the engineers and I will be upgrading my exploration ship first. My question is what upgrades are best for exploration (aside from scanners and FSD)? Any tips and info regarding upgrading my explorer will be greatly appreciated as I really haven't had the time to look into the engineers. Thanks in advance.

My suggestion would be, make it as lightweight as possible and do at least some Low Emissions Grade 1 rolls on the PP to get a better heat efficiency. Grade 1 to not lose too much power output or even gain some as a nice side effect. It's just 1 iron per roll...

Along with the obvious, such as D-rated equipment where you can get by with it and putting a large fuel scoop on (Fuel Scoops don't add weight, so grab the biggest one you can), I really like the fast scan mod on the planetary scanner. (Can't recall what the name is and can't open the game at the moment, but you know what I mean). The main star scan takes very few seconds instead of waiting until well after the fuel scooping is done. Saves a lot of time. Every scan is much faster, so your trip can be a lot more efficient.
