explorer hunters?

Hi all,

I am recently exploring but also in meanwhile i look out for further dangers in space. After doing a research on google on (sagittarius a) i found a player on youtube who mentioned that there are players who shoot down exploreres. Now are those rumours correct or not?

There have been a couple of occasions where a CMDR was sitting at Sag A* fragging people. I haven't heard any cries over the forums in the last few months on a Sag A* griefer.

Now, if you're heading towards Sag A* in open, just be aware of any CMDRs if you jump in, and be ready to jump out if it looks threatening. If you really want to be safe, switch to solo one jump out and enjoy the view, free from any potential griefing.

Not too many people hit Sag A* on a daily basis. It'd be pretty dull, waiting day after day in one spot, waiting for unsuspecting commanders. I could understand about six months ago, when a ton of the explorers out there decided to jaunt out there.

Not saying that there wouldn't be a CMDR there. Just keep frosty, and good situational awareness.

A bigger risk for explorers (from my experience) are the stars one flys into after a few too many scotches.

that said bring shields and be ready to run from anyone who gives you concern

This is truth. I was making my first attempt at Sag A* until two days ago when I had a little fuel scooping accident that damaged my FSD pretty badly. I can still limp along, but it's malfunctioning every third time I engaged it, more or less. I was 10,000 ly out from the bubble, but decided to just head back in since several of my other systems are worse off than my FSD, and I'd hate to suddenly loose life support or worse. (I'm not even sure other systems are as prone to malfunctioning as FSD, but I'm not in the mood to risk a week+ worth of exploration data on it.)

That said, I've been flying in Open the entire time and haven't seen a single other commander since I left the bubble.

As far as I remember the infamous Sag A PK incidents happened at the height of the Buckyball Sag A challenge when many more people were heading there than usual. You are extremely unlikely to encounter a PKer out there, but a little caution does no harm. Check your scanners for other players and if there is someone else about make sure that you have another star system selected just in case you need to high wake in a hurry.
