Horizons Explorer Ranks and leveling up

Hi there, I have a question about explorer ranks.

I just came back from a months long exploration trip out towards the middle of the galaxy. When I got back I sold all my cartographics info and made about 9Million credits. Im sure I was well over half way into my pathfinder rank before I got back and after turning in 9 million worth of data, I only made it to 7% Ranger.
Does this sound right?
I cant find any consistent information on how far up the ranks I should have made it. I primarily play to explore and it feels like I should have gotten farther than that.

It's probably about right. This page was pretty accurate. There was an increase to exploration payout, which usually increases the thresholds.

I got to Elite exploration at ~160 million credits. Up to Ranger was quite quick, but Range -> Pathfinder -> Elite took a while (as it should!)...
