Explorer returning & 1.2

Hi fellow commanders!

Currently i am OMW back home from a 60k ly exploration. I do have a huge load of data to sell. Actually i wanted to get back before 1.2 was released, but didnt make it.
I have the fear, that it is now much more difficult for an unarmed ASP to make it trough to the 500 ly space infested by NPC pirates. Is that true?

*) how has the gameplay for returning explorers changed with 1.2?
*) what would be the best strategy for an unarmed but shielded ASP be to make the last 500 lys?
option 1: switch to economy-route, dont scoop and just rush trough, hoping you wont be interdicted at all?
option 2: fastest routes, duck interdictions and hope that you can boost away if you fail to duck, even with NPC wings?

best regards!

I didnt come across any NPC wings last night.
The best strategy is not to scan any systems in yahoo space. I used fastest route to get back on Monday and i got interdicted 8 times, a colleague used economy and didnt get interdicted at all. My bet would be option 1, as you have to spend less time scooping.

I'm pretty sure you just explode when you get closer than 1000 LY now. One of the updates was a dyson sphere around all of colonised space due to Thargoid threat. If you got shut out, you're stuffed.

Tee hee.., just got back myself yesterday after upgrade. No issues at all, was able to get home without probs. in fact it seems a little more mellow at there. I only encountered one npc and was as straightforward to run away as ever. My impression is that there is less danger out there. Didnt come across any pirates hiding behind the sun at all...

One of the fixes reduces the chance of pirate interception in unihabited systems. I suppose its more safe now.

I was out near the California nebula yesterday, and spent last night on a trip back to Tavgi. Used fastest route (about 800LY, about 50 jumps), and was never interdicted... to be honest, I felt ignored :D
When selling all my data (about 1 million... wasn't out there that long :) ), I did get "first discovered" congratulatory message... so I guess it's working (didn't check with the actual systems though!)

you see another NPC trying to line up behind you. stop. drop to normal space. reengage supercruise. and more often than not, he ain't there no more.

Since it is Wings, I'd say get someone nice to help. I'd totally fly out my armed Asp to meet you 500ly out myself but I'm a bit more limited in play time than I would like.

Well, it was working somewhat around 40% of the times. So getting the message is no big deal.

The thing is, is everythign now attributed properly?

That's how you do it always in high-risk anarchy systems when trading: when approaching a station, just before the counter hits 6, drop out of SC and reengage. This gets rid of all the NPC. The station launches immediately new ones, but often you manage to land before they interdict you.

Sometimes they get you at 2MM distance.. that's the worst, for even when you submit you'll be some 10 ls away.
