Explorer Ship Outfitting Question

Thanks all, I am for sure going to use my Asp I was just surprised how well the Python moved. I just used the Python for a few passenger missions just for fun and it actually was..

Until last night I never understood fully the 6A scoop was for the slot rated 6 ... that can make things a bit easier for me to understand where and why things go in certain "slots"

I would love to get my asp to 40ly, I really wish the engineers "materials" would be easier to find so I could just get a long list and go on a shopping spree for the materials and then bulk up and go back to engineer and roll roll roll

I haven't done very much engineering. Once grade 5 unlocked at Farseer, a couple of rolls was all it took for grade 5 FSD range of 38Ly, for my fully equipped asp X. 2 beams, 4 MCs, A grade sensors, SRV, AFMU, shields, etc. Stripped out it would push further, but I found that too much of a compromise

A couple more recommendations:

-- I find the 6C fuel scoop the be the best balance of performance, power draw and cost for an Asp.

-- When it comes to shields out in the black, I find that unmodded 3D shields are sufficient to protect against the random bumps and bruises. If you want to get really fancy, you could put a G5 low power mod on 3A shields, but I'd only recommend putting the time into that if you already have Lei Cheung unlocked.

-- Other folks have recommended using. 3A power plant, but I would argue that you can easily go down to a 2A -- especially if you keep rolling the G1 low emissions mod at Felicity Farseer until you get a 8% power boost secondary effect (make sure to bring 30-40 sulphur with you!).

-- I'd also recommend dropping your thrusters down to 4Ds and giving them a G1 clean drive tuning mod that is maxed out for optimal multiplier (you can also do this at Felicity Farseer's).

-- My final recommendation is to unlock The Dweller as his engine-focused and high capacity power distributor mods will allow you to fit a tiny power distributor while preserving you ability to thruster boost.

Do you have a link to a ship build with that? TY
