One of my earlier finds. It isn't a 'true' moon, as it is heavy enough so to become a binary, but if it were a bit lighter it would be a moon.
I have started to check out the shots (the first 80 of them) on the thread you mentioned: None orbiting a gas giant so far... As it seems, it must be a quite rare occurrence.
It is. The vast majority will be in Sol-like or the 'no-gas-giant' type systems. I would say the occurrence might be 1% of Earthlikes, which are already less than 1/300 systems for someone looking.
