Explorers at Beagle Point - come join the Slow Boat Flotilla as we arrive tonight at 19 IGT

The Slow Boat Flotilla aka. the FGE Exploration Wings are jumping into Beagle Point tonight at 19 IGT:

We will use The Array (team speak) for communications and play in OPEN (unless instancing forces us into a private group).

At 19:00 IGT we will meet in the CEECKIA WM-H D11-1 system - the exact location in the system will be disclosed on team speak.

If anyone has already arrived at Beagle Point you are welcome to come out and greet us!

Once we have met up we will line up and do the final jump to Beagle Point together in formation.

At Beagle Point system we will do a joint flyby of all planets and moons in the system.
- if Jaques Station has arrived, there will be an option to dock there and perform any necessary emergency repairs (at the time of writing this seems highly unlikely)

Once we are ready to set down at camp 23, Erimus Kamzel (the hermit) will be there and light the landing beacon for us

And when we have safely landed… let the celebrations commence!

It's a shame I am trundling along on a trans-polar expedition at Beagle Point 2 and I won't be able to join the event. I will look up from the 'James Caird' SRV canopy, though, and hope to see the glow of the fleet's sublight engines if it passes overhead in high orbit!

Good luck, Commanders o7

If you are there somewhere between 19.30 and 20.00 IGT tonight we could do a flyby over your location?
(You would need to wing up wing some of us so we get a wing beacon on you)

That would be great - I am jumping ingame in about 5 minutes to power up the SRV and hit the -86th Latitude where I will establish my third nightly Base Camp. A flyby would be something special.

FYI, the location where the Darwin's Legacy basecamp is situated (Planet 2, Coords 48.56 / -35.57) is very dark now. The lighting in 2.1 has changed it quite drastically from when it was first scouted, so although its on the perpetual terminator, the light from the star is very dim here. Its almost as dark as Camp Batuuta was (if you can remember that far back!) :D

Be careful when landing here!

I'll be on the ground at those coords, with lights on, and will wing players in if needed.

o7.

Edit : in Kamzel group.

Edit II : now in Open Play.

Welcome to Beagle Point!

Shame I lost track of your schedule, or I would've been there to greet you too! I'll see you guys tomorrow!

Hope you enjoyed the view - we certainly did enjoy stopping by your place :)

A video of the flyby should be up today or tomorrow :)

To all the Commanders of the First Great Expedition fleet who honoured the 'James Caird' SRV of the Trans-Polar Beagle Point 2 Expedition with a poignant flyby, thank you.

There was something majestic and awe-inspiring about being in a tiny Scarab cockpit trundling slowly up towards the equator from the -90 degree point of the South Pole to find a long ribbon of starships flying slowly overhead. I salute you all o7

May I have your permission to use that video in the ongoing log of the Polar Expedition?

Here's a quick rough cut from my own perspective before the flyby began. I apologise for its quality. Video is not my forte!
