Explorers: Do you check the back?

Done with exploring for a while. But docked near an earth like recently and was reminded of my travels. Each earth like I found I went to the dark side to check for unknown civilisations - lights. This seemed to me one of the most likely signals of developing intelligence. And maybe a way of finding the Thargoids! I believe DB said a while ago there is stuff already in the game

So do you check the backs?

I like to go behind ELW to get the red sunrise and sunset on video.
Ammonia worlds have blue sunrise and sunsets.

It never occured to me to look for lights, but even if you did find something what could you possibly do about it? There's no planetary landings (as of yet) and unless there's a signal source of some kind (not likely if you're far from civilized space) there is no way to interact with the world.
