In all seriousness, with the technological advance that is seen in the year 3301, there's (there shouldn't be) actually no point for players (people) to actually do any exploration.

Why?

Drones. We already have knowledge about (all) the stars. Start manufacturing lightweight drones with just friendship drive, detailed surface scanners, advanced exploration scanners and fuel scoops.
Array these drones. Have each follow an individual star-path.

These drones would cost a fraction of an ASP, and provide as much data. Send them out. Wait a couple of months, get tons of detailed data about EVERY body in each system. With this tech we'd have galaxy fully mapped out within a year.

True, but then exploration would be a pretty boring prospect, since would be reduced to buying stock in the drone manufacturing companies. ;)

Or maybe these companies went out of business because the Thargoids stole all the drones, who knows.

And viruses to shut down pirates, just like the Thargoid drives! And auto trader ships! Why have players AT ALL? Frontier get on this!
