*facepalm*

I'd already parked up my ships waiting for them to fix the broken promotion missions, and now all the exploration work I've done is going to be wiped out too? If this can't be rolled back, that's it for me and Elite... what a spectacularly awful bug to let slip through!

Yep, quite a classic and looking at the time it won't be fixed until tomorrow.

Maybe we need a beta for all future updates and hotfixes... (Ok I feel bad for this comment but I just really wanted to keep this post visible).

Holy cow !
If that's not reversible and the "rightful discoverers" reinstated, the efforts of thousands of players during the past 6 month go right out of the window (at least with regard to tags, they'll still have the exploration payouts of course).
I don't even want to think that thought.

It might mean UC is taken offline while the problem is investigated. In any case, hold off selling data for now, and travel safely.

I think it is possible to check where 1.Discovery has changed and only role back those. More work, but should be considered.

Up this thread...

Well, the fact that the "Congratulations" message lists the bonus as 0CR leads me to think they may be able to roll back to the original explorers (without needing to roll everything back), since something is obviously indicating the 1st discovery reward was already paid.

Hopefully no one takes advantage of this, while they're sorting it (.... exit Cmdr Skibbering thattaway -> on my way to "discover" Sol)

Fortunately the well known systems are well known, and cannot be detail scanned to steal the tag, and since the reward is 0 additional credits theres no additional financial reason to exploit this.
What an awful oversight.
