Exploring and bookmarks

As above been happily re connecting with the game doing some exploring, got loads of data to sell which leads me to my 1st question

Is the data sale price the same no matter where i sell it?

and bookmarks do you guys bookmark every system you go through or are you selective? what warrants a system to get a bookmark?

cheers

I would say yes approx
I only bookmark sys with a black hole a neutron star or an earth type world etc ie systems of interest to me these things have better explorer value too...………...
also I think there is a limit on how many on the map you can have

Not enough bookmarks.. Or need Categories

I cleaned up most so I can use them. It is no good having 128 (max) and then not being able to put a temp bookmark in. I usually keep the systems I really like and like endpoints of exploration trips I made aka when I turn around. Also some records. Keep your real precious finds. Your lesser finds.. well forget them or make an excel

:)

differing things if you intend on low temp diamond mining later a pristine ice ring around a planet for eg that once scanned shows hotspots of valuables void opals being another high value commodities
if planets ammonia worlds or earth likes are worth a lot in exploration data(no mining required) see chart for money earned from exploration to rank conversion
https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Explorer (scroll down page) especially if your first to discover it (got back home to cash in on the find before anyone else)

I categorise my bookmarks by editing them and prefixing them with a non-alphanumeric character.

# goes to the top of the list. (Home system and Jameson’s)

* under the # category (Material traders)

. 3rd from the top

Then each full stop prefixed, drops the entry downwards.

cheers for the info, what is considered a precious find??
It depends what you mean by precious. If you're exploring for money, water worlds, Earth worlds and terraformables are valuable. If you're doing it for pretty views, a precious one would be a very pretty view. If you're doing it for fame, it would be finding something that nobody else found, like aliens, alien structures or something like that.

Some people like to tick off lists. I can remember the Observers Books, like The Obsservers Book of Moths. You had to go out and find all the different moths that were described in the book. I think you could get a badge or something if you sent your book off with everything ticked off. Basically, it was an exploration hobby. They had The Observers Book of Trains, Fish, Insects, Fungi, Astronomy and just about everything. You can do the same in ED if you look in your Codex discoveries, which is in the first tab of the left panel. It's basically, the Observers Book of Things in the ED Galaxy. The Galaxy is divide up into sectors. In each sector, you get the chance to find all the different things again so that you can tick them off again. Getting that last square filled would be very precious.

Please show me these plenty of systems with binary black holes and an earth in their barycenter. I dont want to sound snarky, I am curious. Please actually show them.
