Newcomer / Intro Exploring and keeping on the route

I can plot a route to a waypoint on the galaxy map and then hyperjump repeatedly very easily. I'd like to scan the main star sometimes and continue jumping, but I have to go back to the galaxy map to set the target again, which is quite slow. Is there are a way to keep jumping without going back to the galaxy map?

If you go into the navigation list on the left (press 1) it should still show the next place on your route with a navigation symbol next to it. If you select it there I think that gets you back onto your route.

You can either select it from your NAV panel (next destination has a route icon beside it), or use the glorious new 'next route waypoint' key introduced in 1.2 - I don't know its standard binding, though, you'd have to look it up under Options/Controls.

For me, it's the button combo on my slightly overcrowded T.Flight that convinced me an X55 might be needed soon.

Thanks. There was no default keybinding, but I bound it to an F5 key and it seems to work nicely.

That's handy, thanks!

It seems there are lots of subtle new bits in 1.2 that you could easily miss. The Controls screen is so long now there could be a "Nuke Galaxy" button and most people wouldn't notice it.
