Exploring rituals and habits?

I have realised that I have quite a few little rituals I go through when exploring.

For instance, when I find a little gem like an ELW or an Ammonia World, I always approach it slowly until I am forced out of SC. Then I spend some time taking selfies, write down the system in Evernote, make a note in EDD and trilaterate for EDSM.

Anyone else have any rituals when exploring that they don't really have to do, but would feel wrong to omit or skip?

I eat my dinner, do the dishes, sit down to process the past day, and after that log on to plot a course of 965-972 ly which appears to be the quickly calculated length. Then I make these 30-35 jumps, jump another 200-300 ly to have done more than 1000ly, say goodbye to my teamspeak mates and log off to hang around on forums for a while, after which I go to bed.

Whenever logging out, I fly at least 50-100Ls away from any body, drop to normal space, and stop. None of this is needed, but I feel compelled to do it.

Ahh see I like to log in somewhere with a view, whenever possible. That means I have to find something pretty before I can log out - so I'll land on an interesting planet, or drop into the rings of a gas giant. Nebula views count, and if all else fails and I just have to log out, a nice blue B type star is usually within reach. Logging in to a surprise great view is another little thing that makes exploring fun for me!

A few...

- Check night side of EL and ammonia worlds looking for lights.

- Take a screenshot of every Ammonia, EL and waterworld discovered.

- Try to scan water or ammonia life-bearing gas giants.

- Check waterworlds for archipiélagos. I've got a theory, FDev added them in every WW to have landable terrain beyond ice caps. And beach resorts, maybe.

- Try to scan all HMC in a system.

And after all that, I use to look for a nice parking spot for my ship: high orbit around a planet, inside a ring or in an asteroid belt, and shut down all non-critical modules before "retiring" to my quarters.

i normally stop for a night on a water world, really close (after being "forced" out of SC), turning off all moduls beside life-support, and watch my canopy go icy. if there isn't a water world on the final jumps i do, a nice ring or nice looking planet will suffice, too.

If there's planets/moons I can land on, I pick one at random or whichever is closer and land on. I try to land with a flight heading of 090 so I can see the local sun and try to land near the terminator so the sun is still low in the sky when I land. Then when I log in again I make a note of where the sun is now just to ground myself in the immersion and take off again to continue my expedition.

If no planets I scoop, turn the ship to where the sun is about 1000 ls away and drop from SC before logging for the night.

I do that, but with extra paranoia. Have to be at least 500ls from a lone star with no other bodies within 10,000ls.
