Exploring the bubble inconsistencies

I've been running around Njikan scanning systems. Some systems i've never been too will still show the planets as unexplored and some don't. When dropping into a few of the systems i've never been too there are some planets that show a first discovered by and 1 or 2 planets that don't show any first discovered by. While surface mapping i've noticed that planets do not show a grid until a probe hits it. Then it shows the area covered by the probe. Some planets will show a grid before firing any probes and subsequently will not show the area covered by the probe. Has anyone else observed this?

I found a couple planets far outside the bubble that already had the mapping grid on them and I am pretty certain they were previously unexplored and unmapped. I mapped both of them successfully.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking this is a random bug. I was also able to map the planets but had to fire a few extra probes on the larger ones.

Aha. I am at a planet right now that definitely says "This planet has not been mapped". This particular planet was discovered by someone else. It is already covered in blue grid.

Yeah, there's some bugs. I keep getting notices that I've discovered stuff, when I know it's already been discovered (by me, even). I mapped a planet and suddenly it showed me as both the "First Mapped" and "First Discovered" person, over-writing the original discoverer's name.

Hopefully all this stuff is just cosmetic and the underlying data is ok.
