I am trying to do some exploring now and I was wondering if maps are worth more the farther away you travel? right now I just sell it all off as soon as im 20 Ly away.

Nope. Unlike rares, data doesn't gain value the farther you go -it's a good idea and I'm all for the concept- so after the 20ly, it will pay the same.

From what I've read you get extra only for something that no one else have found yet. So you have to be the first one to deliver the data to get extra.

Basic to advanced system scan is one price. You get more CR if you carry out detailed surface scans on some planets & stars.
