Exporting and Importing of controller mapping is imperative

The ability to export and re-import controller mappings after such a disaster would be much appreciated

You're right, and I understand your frustration, but count to ten before you post next time. A simple save as.. option under the controls settings page is looooong overdue. +1

You can do this by copying and renaming the binding file. Just search the forums for instructions - it's been discussed a number of times.

Your custom bindings are saved - C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

Always back up just in case
