Exquisite Focus Crystals

Hi,

Does anyone know a way to farm these consistantly?

I've been lookimg through some guides and tips to get them via missions, I've tried Extraction / Industrial systems in Boom state, but 6 hours later of constant blank-faced mission refreshing I still have't been able to get a single one, and it's depressing to realize that I need 4....

Tips are very welcome.

I've (inconsistently) got them from degraded emissions sources. The more consistent way (at least for me) seems to be bounty hunting at a nav beacon (not compromised). I must have seen maybe a dozen during 2hrs of play last night. And remember, for each one you pick up, 2 more will be added to your inventory for a total of 3 every time. Jackpot :)

Are you sure you are getting the Exquisite ones from bounty hunting? Not Refined ?

I've got plenty, but that can't be transferred, and perhaps more importantly, I don't think you're my type.

Interesting. I BH at nav beacons for chemical manipulators, and I haven't had one exquisite drop. Good thing for me I don't need one yet.....

Edit: I keep my eye open for them, as the forums indicate they are rare.

Just so you know, if you go to MCC 613, and find SEEKING WEAPONS POI, jump in you will see like 5-7 Type 9's , blow them all up , collect chemical manipulators, relog do it again, I got about 50 chemical manipulators in less than 15 minutes...

I pick them up in Boom High Tech systems. Ive also come across them once in USS, though for the life of me, i cant remember where/how.

I have literally never seen an exquisite focus crystal in the game, got tons of refined and regular ones though. I'd love some info on this too.

I've done loads of missions in various locations, hell I'm carrying 44 modular terminals right now and I don't even need them, just collecting for the lulz while I check mission boards for other stuff I need.

@X2....have you unlocked Marco Qwent yet? His entry fee is 25 modular terms.

@MassiveD I'm not on a huge hunt for them, I just know I may need them for future G5 FSD upgrades. All my ships in my fleet for now have the upgrade already :). Thanks for the tip! Have some poor man's rep (on mobile)

I've used three in total, all from Elite level missions I'm at Deadly + 20% so I occasionally pick up an Elite EFC mission, I haven't seen them drop from any ship kills either right up to Elite Anacondas loads of refined focus crystals though.

According to Inara " Mission Reward, Higher chance in Boom system states"

so its now 11 hours of spinning the wheel of fortune and not even a single mission with Exquisite crystal reward....

I've endured a lot in ED since engineers came out, but this is starting to get a little bit maddening :/

This is not gameplay, it would be considered torture even in North Korea....

I think I picked up one or two after being interdicted by some heavy federal gunboat.

Some reason the AI did it's jousting runs, but never opened fire, and eventaully I sat nose to nose empyting my weapons on it, and it just took it.
Then I took the rares it dropped. (the RNG god still won't give me a mission with nano-weave hoses!!) but I got a gunboat that forgot it had guns.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I got my first one in Eravate system, Cleve Hub station.....
