This probably has everything to do with instancing issues. I would be perfectly fine with giving SLFs unlimited range, but I am not sure if it would be physically possible to implement.

As for SLFs being capable of going anywhere in a system, good luck with that. I don't see any of the existing SLFs getting FSDs, and it's not like you are really going to get anywhere in real space when your speed is limited to 400-500 m/s.

Just add an option to "dismiss" the mothership like for SRVs.

They could get supercruise-only FSDs
