Extra fuel tank

OP : I don't see the point of them for Asps, never needed one in over 100K LY of exploring.

Like an Anaconda owner earlier in this thread I've used one to drop my Asp from 32 tonnes to 24 tonnes which increased my range a little bit. I tried it out on a quick 200 jump test trip and it worked fine, 24 tonnes gives me 5 full distance jumps which is quite enough, just having 16 tonnes would allow only 3 full distance jumps which I would not be comfortable with.

It would be even better if you could,

A) dump fuel, not as if the idea is new, been around at least since the 1950's in aviation.

B) turn of a fuel tank if not using it, been around since at least the 1930's in aviation.

And that the route plotter plots routes with the range based on which tanks are turned on.

Simple, but it wont ever happen, lol.
I was reading through the thread and this is exactly what I wanted to post, but you beat me to it.

It's a real shame as I'd love to be able to go out in a jump long range 'Buckyball' Asp, but also carry a deactivated 32t tank and some fuel transfer limpets + controller. The 32t tank could be switched on any time that I didn't need the long range jumps - particularly if someone needed rescuing (I've not joined the Fuel Rats, but only because the above doesn't work! As it stands I cannot afford to be a Fuel Rat using my Buckyball Run Asp :()

Oh yes. Fuel dumping for extending range (significant enough weight saving?) and a proper reserve fuel tank ..

That would be great!!!

This is why i called my T6 "Gas Can II"

I know i could squeeze some extra LY out of this, but i like my A-rated T6.
