Extra perk for prem beta buyers

Haven't read this whole thread.
But as a PB player, i really have no need for special perks, especially ones that have a certain impact on the game like insurance discount and all that.

Things i wouldn't frown upon but don't see absolutely necessary would be for example a special optional decal for PB players, or a PB bobblehead.
Alpha players could have their own versions, and so could beta players.

They were actually selling Alpha access on their store for many, many months with that as one of the guaranteed benefits of shelling out TWO HUNDRED POUNDS!

Many months? The earliest evidence I see of the insurance discount being offered is Newsletter #18 dated April 1st. Frontier initially said they'd stop taking orders for Alpha on April 25th but I think it was extended until the 28th.

Anyone have an earlier date on the insurance discount?

I wished I'd backed enough to get into the DDF. My only regret.

I wouldn't regret it too much. It is, after all, only paying extra money for Frontier's ear and not a guarantee that they would implement suggestions.

DB mentioned there were 45K backers at Nordic Gamers 2014 a fortnight or so ago.

How many backers are there now?

Last time I saw, there were just under 53,000 and that was more than two weeks ago.

Not sure how realistic it is but I think it could possibly sell close to a million copies. I wish they'd allow gifting in the store. I'd like to get a copy and the expansion pass for my friend before his birthday next month. The only reason I question the likelihood is because there don't seem to be too many people interested in games that require an attention span. If you take into account the (let's call it) 3.2 million pounds raised before the numbers disappeared and then 53,000 backers, that makes the average pledge a little over 60 pounds. That's twice the cost of the game in the store. So, that's effectively 106,000 and change already sold.

Frontier probably has quite a long ways to go before they see any kind of profit from this game, though.

I voted yes - but only from the point of view that if some form of thx was on offer I certainly wouldn't knock it back - but in no way do I need it - quite happy with what I've gotten for my money in participating in the testing so far.

Exactly right. It's really not worth all the bad feeling. We pledged / bought what we did and knew what rewards we were getting for that.

Really no need to change that now.
