Extremely Frustrating "Liberate Missions"

Why do the target canisters lose health over a short period of time and explode? is this a bug? because it's very annoying especially after;
1. waiting for the allotted time to go find the NPC. (not that bad i can mix other missions in with it)
2. flying all the way out to 100k ls spot (some places are far thats fine)
3. spending too many hatch breakers to get the damn guy to drop what I'm looking for ( can't there be some sort of priority for missions items?)
4.got some with my collectors then ran out of limpets so had to manual scoop then as i get to the last one it explodes and I fail it's like, GUYS! come on, I love the game but this just silly.

I could understand having timeouts on items to avoid clutter or something but do mission items have to have that?
Can they not be exempt?

Yes I feel your pain. 6 canisters to pick up. 5th one was at 47% when I got to it. 6th was at 7% for some reason. Detonated just before I got to it. This after failing about 6 other missions because nobody told me that you switch off Report Crimes, you need 50 limpets, you need a single small gimballed beam to take out power plants and cargo hatches without destroying the target, you don't take the cargo hatch down to 0%, etc.

Liberation missions are just another new feature in the game that isn't what players asked for and which players have to avoid if it isn't to spoil the game for us.

....and here you are again. Your ctrl-c and ctrl-v buttons are going to get broken very quick if you keep copy pasting so much. Its a feature that is almost a year old and, whilst it is tricky & could definitely do with some tweaking, I see no evidence that it is content that "players didn't ask for", nor do I see it as an impossible mission type.
 
Yes I feel your pain....

You don't need to wait until 'mission time' to do the mission.
Avoid killing the NPC, and you can jump in & out of the USS as often as you need to collect the right number of canisters.
Provided you don't run over time, you can restock limpets as needed, again jumping in & out of the USS.
