Extremly large mining POI's

Has anybody else met one of these?

Extremely large mining POI's approx. 40 mining stands and heavily defended - at least 6 defence turrets and skimmers and a very large exclusion zone?
.
You cant do the usual "hit and run" without activating the defences as the distances are too great so you have to stand and fight.
.
1st time I found it I left well alone as my lightly armed hauler that was almost full would have no chance but then I got into a better armed cobra and so went looking again
.
Twice now I have had the fight and destroyed the defences but I get a CTD after destroying the 2nd mining station when I am just rubbing my hands with glee at the prospect of many mining fragments!
.
is this a wider problem are others having it or just me?

Bug report raised but these things are pretty rare so be good to know if others have had a similar problem over what is a literal gold mine

Can you pls say where did you find it? I want to see that with my own eyes.

you have to hunt around the POI's - found on three separate moons around 50km from the settlements - look like they could be a really good "cash cow"

YOU will know you have found one the are lit up like really big xmas trees and can see them as soon as you enter the blue circle they are that bright - by far the most dangerous thing I have found on the surface - the first time I attacked one I took a hell of a kicking

Do you know that if you shoot the extractors they give metals/minerals? (Presume so, just checking )

yeah its when I shoot the second extractor I CTD twice now!!!! Its only the Large protected mining station that CTDs the smaller ones are fine

Edit (if I find another large one Ill screen grab it - its a joy to behold (and scary too!)

I have found one of these before, it wasn't quite as well guarded. I was just shooting all the miners without picking anything up, i was looking for any possible meta-alloy fragments. Close to the last one i did crash, but it may have just been my settings at the time. Now i close the launcher once the client is running and have only had one crash since. It could have also been caused by the high number of fragments laying about.

Only seen one of these, but yeah my game crashed to desktop as soon as I shot the first extractor.

Yes had one of these. I too crashed and lost a lot of materials, as I think there is a limit as to how many canisters you can have on the surface as separate objects at any one time. I suspect that the system just cant handle that many.

These kind of POIs do make POI hunting interesting and more profitable though

I found one recently but I was in a hurry to turn in missions before a server restart so I passed it up. Looked too tough to take in my Cobra at the time anyway.

I was wondering what to do at these site, I will have to go back and try it out now. I don't think I found any big ones but I'll have a look. What happens if the drones don't scan as wanted? If you shoot them, you will end up with a bounty on you.
