"Eyeballing" Star Systems.

Is there a Scanner that scans the entire Star System?

Now i need to look around for moving stars against the background, so i know ive seen everything in a particulair System. Things i've discovered outside what the scanners can find are amazing.

Some stars and the satellites orbitting it are like 200.000Ls away form the jump star, the scanner i have now doesn't pick up those stars. Its a long flight, and sometimes i find .... nothing. Waste of time and fuel.

There is an advanced discovery scanner that should scan the whole system.

There is the Advanced Discovery Scanner (which costs ~ 1.5 million credits) which will let you see every body in the system, though it won't tell you what those bodies are (i.e. you still have to fly 200,000 ls to find out if that blue planet is an Earth Like or a Water World).

Awesome.. Guess its time to sell my data and buy me one..

If out exploring it is best to go for both ADS and the Detailed Surface Scanner (DSS). The ADS as you have been told will ID all bodies in a system the DSS will increase your pay out for scanning each of the bodies you find. :)

The other advantage to the ADS is that you can pop open the system map and see if you're in a system that's been tagged or not...I speed honk until I find a system with no player tags, then go nuts on the scanning.
