FA off with K and M... Advice please!

I'm busy working my way to my final Elite status, that of combat. While I won't necessarily 'get gud' I might get ok-ish.

So I've been trying to use FA off more, usually I switch it off for a moment, manoever and turn it back on. This is fine and does give me an advantage over NPC's.

But... Having FA off for the whole time I find quite impossible. I've watched several very good You Tube videos on it. I've tried building up slowly, spinning round asteroids.

Thing is I don't have a Hotas and am limited to K and M, mostly this is absolutely fine. Controlling a ship FA off is seeming to be beyond me. I simply can't seem to fly the damn ship! Please could someone give me advice on how to get better, even if not actually gud

You have to turn on relative mouse and crank it's multiplier all the way up. This makes FA on difficult, almost impossible, but if your mouse has optional DPI buttons to change sensitivity on the fly, you might be able to manage, especially with a script that toggles FA and sensitivity at the same time. Some bind directional keys to the keyboard, but the game really needs improvement on these settings.
