Hi everyone,
this is my current park i'm working on. The idea and the first parts of this project exists since years and it takes a lot of time to get the right point of view and/or motivation to get things done. But now i'm feeling like it's constantly growing and the result looks unique enough to present it.
The focus is on completely themed rides because i love to ride them myself
Mostly transports and coasters. Flatrides/shops aren't that entertaining for me, so they do exist in this park, but more as a kind of decoration and attraction for all those peeps. Also the park layout is not something you'd find in existing real life parks. The layout doesn't copy something from Disney parks, it's completely adapted to the needs of the scenic environment itself. As you may have guessed already it's a fable/faerie tale themed park.
Currently there are three areas existing and working/finished. That's the Castle and train station, which acts as a transportation hub and entrance at the same time. There is also a coaster (Malice) below a village build roughly in halfling style. The castle itself comes as the idea and imprssion from older french castles in the valley of the Loire in France, like Chambord.
The next area is a more arboreus one which is containing also a coaster (Barghest) and some flatrides. It's pretty much build into the woods and caves and should give the impression to be inhabited by pixie or gnome like creatures. The next area is a little bit on the north eastern border of this, almost in the northern middle of the sandbox ground itself. A longer lake, almost a small river, is somehow marking the border. It's a true village containing a lot of colorful houses. The placement should refer to older, still existing medival like cities/villages like Hameln (Pied Piper of Hameln) or in a tale of the brothers Grimm. It should give a more country side look and contains also some flatrides an a pretty dominant puurple Radius flatride. Although the tag flatride would be questionable in this case. Just thinking...
The last and upcoming area is an old fortress taken as a layout from the mid 17th century (1650), which existed into the late 19th century (1880) south of the city of Groningen in the Netherlands. It's still there but as a very unique, large and open museum. It's called "Vesting Bourtange" and fits perfectly as a nackground for a Grimm tale. In real life you can visit the houses of the garrison, the mill, the (powder) magazin and church. It looks like it was build to be a dollhouse. But it contained some pretty fearless soldiers in the centuries long ago. Today it's a very romantic and cosy impression with a tiny market square, tiny houses and streets/ways, sheltered by giant earth walls and bastions. I had to change the process of landscaping i'm used to from building to imprinting and lining out the borders with walkways and selfmade patters of yellow/black striped parts to get the angels right, as these old fortrsses used to be build in form of a five-pointed star. The game can do 36° angles, but not 72°.
Anyway, i get lost on this one, i'll post a screenshot later on. The main atteaction and ride in this park is a scenic tour with a Connie Express. It has already a full blown train station with 3 different station platforms in one building at the entrance. There are already 5 stations and it works perfectly as the main transportation system. The tracks are leading from the main train station to the arboreus area (Koboldingen) and the country side village (Hochstein). In fact, it's the most used ride by peeps and they love to ride around. The queues are completely full, and in Hochstein i have to close the station from time to time because there are several hundred peeps piled up on the access point to the queue. They're annoyingly persistent, even though i'm charging them for 35 bucks for the ride back to Train station. I also installed a massive underground network, which is completely invisible from above to relieve the pressure of this station invasion, but up to this point, i can't figure out a cure for all this. On the upside, the train is always crowded and it looks vivid and humming like a bee-hive. Naturally, as i'm still building the fortress and the following already planned last area, the train ride isn't complete as such. But it's a good show to get an impression of the already completed areas. So here's a video from the train ride and some screenshots below. The video isn't that sharp because i still struggle with the compression in Movie Maker.
