Hardware & Technical Facebook buys OculusVR

I can only think that this will be bad. I don't know how, I don't know why but it will. If they try and make it so that I have to have a bloody Facebook account just to use my Oculus I will not be happy! :mad:
 
Exactly my concern. I have avoided Facebook, Twitter and all those other methods of posting pictures of you doing stupid things that others aren't even interested in so far and I have no desire to stop now.
 
I'm not sure how I feel about that, other than I'm glad I didn't buy into the OR yet.

I think there's something to be said about benefiting from a Kickstarter where the crowd funded the project from the ground up, only to sell out to another company before the first Retail version hits the stores. I wonder what kind of perks the Kickstarter backers get from a $2 Billion acquisition? I doubt they would even be offered a refund.

I hadn't even thought of that, I think if the product had been on retail sale it's not an issue but given hat people have funded the project via kick starter it's a bit of a kick in the teeth to those early backers.
