So there's not a lot of reason not to be able to have this other than simply man-hours and dev-ability.

And the cost of licensing the technology. And whether that time would be better spent elsewhere in the game. And whether it would actually add any value to the game. (To me; it screams gimmick but I get that some players think it would be valuable.)

In fairness, you can already do photo-likeness in Sports games on consoles (FIFA, GOlf, etc), so the tech is readily available and easy to implement.

I realised I was reading multiple "current" posts/threads about the same exact subject today. Worked my way back, and found you were there, reanimating them all...

10/10 for effort, but this is leaning towards spamming an idea. I mean, you even made a thread list here yesterday, then requoted that whole list again here today. So you're re-animating AND re-posting lists of reanimated threads.

Seriously... just choose one thread, collect your thoughts, then say what you want to say in it.

Readers can do without the duplication. Moreover, FD don't need to be shotgunned into taking this idea on board. After all, it's in the Elite game's history. They know all about NPC faces.


Great idea to promote/recommend something you feel would add to the game. No issue with the content or presentation. Just... pleeeease avoid trawling the back catalogue looking for reanimation candidates!

You got me there. I honestly think it's a very essential part of the game that is still missing. I care much more about at least some representation for NPCs in the game other than just text messages than about balancing some shield value to some decimal degree that will only affect the most hardcore of PVP players. That's the reason why I resurrected those older threads. I wanted to make clear I am not the only one caring about this feature and that there have already been a lot of other users requesting something similar. But I agree I perhaps overdid it a little, I just didn't get the amount of feedback in my own thread I was hoping for (be it positive or negative).

The reason why I quoted my own thread was only because I thought I made valid point clear there and didn't want to rewrite the whole stuff again.

Perhaps I am just a little irritated that such an - in my view - important topic doesn't get the attention it deserves because the "Dangerous Discussion" is flooded by whining and complaining threads so fast a single thread will only survive on the first page for a few minutes at best.
