Facilities and Shops

What are other peoples thoughts on the current "facilities" and how does everyone foresee how they'll differ from shops in future updates? when we get shops in the next update, will that render the current facilities part redundant?

I like how how the current shops link with the building system and I'm really intrigued to know how they'll link with buildings when the full shop element is introduced (or will they be standalone, or a mixture?). I can't find a lot of information about shops and how they're going to be handled - Frontier seem to be keeping a lot under wraps!
 
This also intrigues me very much. They're keeping a lot hidden from us in terms of what the shops are going to be. Personally I hope it will be a full shop system that people can walk in rather than just a single window, but I think it's more likely its going to include the RCT style stalls in the shape of the item they are selling [sulk].
 
Surely if they just have that though, it will make it really difficult/frustrating for people to integrate them into buildings. Everyone knows how hard it is to hide the current queue entrance, imaging having to hide a massive burger :) also, everything has been pretty realistic and I'm not sure if they really have shops in the shape of the item they sell, in the real world? I doubt that they'll have a full shop that people walk into but that would be very cool!

I know they'll definitely not get rid of the ones we have just now, but i am hoping for a system of making more realistic shop and restaurant interiors. I personally don't think I would ever use the old style ones if they put them in but I know a lot of people like them as they are quick and simple to place.

I believe the shops will be the "pre-built" themed versions of the various stalls (like in the previous RCT games) and the facilities will be the generic versions that can be customized and built around - like exists currently in the Alpha build.

There should be only one version of each stall under the facilities tab with an option (dropdown) to select the wall texture you want to match the custom design you build around it. [happy][up]
Otherwise, once we have many, many more [yesnod] wall styles/textures and color options there will be tons of duplicate stalls for each of the various stall types - which I expect and hope will be dozens and dozens of upon release.[big grin]
